don’t we hide ourselves
under, the very mask that follows
as we hide our red heart—bloody
in our chest, and
imagine that “mercy” evaded us.
don’t we sleep dreaming how “giving” God been to us,
while,
forgetting how “harsh” God been to our neighbors
and sleep so sweat, yet
asking for more
don’t we not forget how high we are, that we forget to look down
and kill the ants that come our way,
and forget that the ant,
is so slow,
we forget—cause it is all about us
we forget since,
we live and life not
since we are to make life, not life us
but on our way
this “us” makes it so hard for others
and yet
we all think “short”
because it is “us” that makes “us”
it is the time to know how bloody that heart of “us” is
and know how ants die
and know this life is not only for us
and know how peaceful it is,
to live it—with each other
